Elizabeth J. Shin

Elizabeth is a designer, musician and an educator with great passion for the creative arts including visual, culinary and music.   As an advocate for children and music education, she is inspired by the research on the overall benefits of music, particularly in brain health.  She has organized and showcased students’ artistic talents for a school-wide festival, featuring performances of mixed genres of music, poetry, acting and visual art.  She had applied for and received an educational grant to fund a state-of the art music technology lab for her classroom, which provided access to unique musical experience through technology for the first time for many students.

She has organized events and themed private parties, including innovative, multi-media musical events as well as annual showcases for her private music studio,  She was also a church music ministry director for children and adult choirs and instrumental ensembles.  

Elizabeth founded the nonprofit, Live in Harmony Foundation, dedicated to building awareness and raising funds for programs supporting children with food insecurities.  Initiatives under the foundation include “Have a Meal, Give a Meal” and “In Harmony!”, which provide access to the arts and food for children in underserved communities.  She hosted private fundraising events for “Have a Meal, Give a Meal ” including cooking classes and dinners, where she led the instruction and served her healthy international dishes, including popular Korean dishes and desserts.
