A New Year, a New Vision

Are you ready to THRIVE in 2022?

I don’t know about you, but I have become more reflective since the pandemic, or maybe it’s because I am getting older.  Either way, it’s the realization that life is short, unpredictable and fragile.  I’ve learned we don’t really have control over much, except for our perspectives, our attitude and how we choose to show up each day. I have become more aware of what’s important in life and the need to cherish them.  It’s a given that we’ll all be served some serious and intense curve balls from time to time but we will/can get through them and we are better for it… much stronger and wiser.  Even in the toughest period, we have a lot to be thankful for.

A friend shared a quote by John Dewey, “We do not learn from experience… we learn from reflecting on experience.”  My interpretation of this quote is to not waste an experience, the good and the bad.  Be present, learn from it, not dwell, be thankful for the lessons and then move on. Do you agree?

So here we are, almost two years since the start of the pandemic.  Whether you have thrived or barely survived, we can start the new year with hope and resilience to reset and renew.

I typically choose a word for the year on my birthday, which is in September.  It helps me to create a mindset to live out the year with a clear intention.  I would like to build on it by adding another word for the new calendar year.  I chose ABUNDANCE on my birthday and I am adding AWAKEN. There are several reasons for these words but the overarching theme is that I recently realized that I was thinking small because I didn’t think I was deserving of  success.  I was standing in my own way, blocking my potential.   I am reminding myself that I am worthy of all the good in my life!   I needed to awaken my soul from its slumber to not just exist but to thrive!  As Maya Angelous said, “My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive.”  This is my wish for W.E. Thrive women as well.  In order to live a full, authentic life, we have to start inward and learn to unleash our potential, our gifts, our badassness!

This brings me back to the question, are you ready to thrive in 2022?  What is your word of intention for the new year? Need some help coming up with one? MyIntent.org has a Word Finder quiz you can take for free: https://myintent.org/pages/word-finder

Our kickoff event for 2022 is to create a visual of our intentions.
